Alexa Chung has come a long way – she burst onto our screens as the host of the music show, ‘Popworld’, on Channel 4, and has since taken the fashion world by storm, becoming the face of brands such as Pepe Jeans and became a muse for Mulberry, having the ultimate honour of a bag, the ‘Alexa’, named after her.
She has become a style icon (she was even awarded the British Style Award, for the best dressed Brit, at the British Fashion Awards earlier this month).
I really admire her style – it’s quirky and a stylish take on vintage, and I love how she plays with the fashion rules, mixing things up to produce some extraordinary outfits.
Below I have picked out some of my favourite outfits of hers.
Alexa Chung in a stylish, tailored outfit of a shirt and high-waisted shorts, and platform satin heels, to the 7th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York
Alexa in a chic outfit of a silk blouse and demin cutoffs, and her namesake Alexa handbag, which she wore to a Mulberry dinner in LA in the summer, to celebrate their A/W 2010 collection

Alexa Chung shows us how knitwear can also be partywear, when she wore this stylish (yet warm) outfit to Levi’s Curve launch party in London in September (pictured here with designer Henry Holland)
A leather skirt really is a wardrobe staple, as it is so versatile – you can dress it up with a silk blouse and some heels for the office or with a little top for a night out.
To channel Alexa’s style, go for an A-line shape, just like this one by Acne (which is available now in the sale at Browns).
Acne ‘Dali’ A-line mini skirt, £285
Alexa shows off her androgynous side in this stylish, tailored 3.1 Phillip Lim tuxedo which she wore to this year’s Costume Institute Gala in New York (fashion’s biggest night of the year). She paved the way for a trend that caught on amongst celebrities much later in the year.
Alexa looks cute in an asymmetric mini dress and a leopard print coat (not pictured) to the 37th International Emmy Awards gala in New York last winter
Would you like to add a touch of Alexa’s style to your wardrobe? Then look no further as I have gathered a few pieces (inspired by Alexa) to add to your wardrobe.
First off for your Alexa wardrobe you definitely need an Alexa handbag (just like the one above).
Alexa loves her ballet flats and one trend that she rocks a lot is ones with ankle straps, such as these stunning, statement red Charlotte Olympia satin ones.
Charlotte Olympia red satin ballerina flats, £248 (sale item)
Use them to add a little bit of fun (and colour) to any outfit this winter.
Alexa is a huge fan of the flattering dropped waists – a fit that is incorporated into this gorgeous, military-inspired grey Mulberry coat.
Mulberry Admiral coat, £347 (sale item)
Invest in this coat and throw it on over any outfit this winter to add a little fun, Alexa-style into your outfit.
And finally, to complete your Alexa wardrobe, you just need some cool shift dresses for both the day and the night.
Topshop button down pussy bow dress, £43
Christopher Kane outer space shift dress, £960
Happy shopping!
