Carven, the French fashion house, started in 1945, and grew quickly, amassing an impressive clientele including royals and screen stars.
However the House of Carven has since shut it doors, but recently was resurrected from the ashes of fashion history, with the former Givenchy designer Guillaume Henry as the creative director, leading the brand into a new era of ready-to-wear clothing.
Once again Carven is taking over the fashion world, and several celebrities nowadays can be counted as fans, including model Alexa Chung.
The collection is so beautiful and it is easy to see why they all love it.
Anyway, here are some of my favourite pieces from the collection.
Carven silk-twill cowl-neck top, £235 (via net-a-porter)
I love this top – it’s a gorgeous, flattering shape and perfect for this summer.
Add a pair of neutral trousers for a day at the office or a great pair of skinny jeans for the weekend. Just remember your heels!
Carven cowl neck crepe top, £194.92 (via luisaviaroma.com)
Or alternatively, you buy the top in this gorgeous terracotta colour. How beautiful is this?!
Carven pleated cotton-blend twill shorts, £235 (via net-a-porter)
These shorts are very on-trend this summer – the perfect way to wear the neutral trend.
Carven raw silk double breasted jacket, £550 (via Matches)
No wardrobe is complete without a white blazer, so why not invest in this Carven one today.
It is a beautiful shape once on, and the pocket detail and double breasted cut adds something unique over many of the other blazers on the market.
Also this blazer is the perfect off-white colour, complementing everything in your wardrobe. Perfect!
Carven orange cropped wool-crepe blazer, £360 (via net-a-porter)
This is my absolute favourite thing from the whole collection (and possibly any Spring collection this season).
Great, on-trend colour, lovely shape, and it is so wearable – team it with a striped top and jeans at the weekend, or with a neutral blouse and skirt for a day in the office.
Carven orange pleated wool-crepe skirt, £235 (via net-a-porter)
Or invest in this cute orange skirt, which has more of a feminine touch to it.
Team it up with a flattering neutral blouse and flat sandals, and you’re ready for summer.
Carven washed silk shirt, £235 (via net-a-porter)
This shirt is gorgeous; a great colour, and the perfect way to wear the feminine blouse trend this Spring.
For a preppy look, wear it with some brogues and a pair of rolled up white skinny jeans.
Carven buttoned silk tunic, approx £282 (via La Garconne)
This oversized silk tunic is perfect for dressed down wear at the weekend.
Just slip it on with some skinny jeans or leggings and you are ready to go!
Carven cable-knit cardigan, £430 (via net-a-porter)
I love this preppy, college-style cardigan.
The open knit makes this sweater more light and perfect for layering over pretty, lightweight summer dresses this Spring.
Carven twisted stretch-jersey skirt, £235 (via net-a-porter)
The great thing about this skirt is that you can team it with a white tee and heels for an evening out, or dress it down with flat sandals for a day out in the summer heat.
Carven high-waisted lavender wool-crepe shorts, £180 (via net-a-porter)
How cool are these shorts? Love them!
Carven knotted bustier dress, £419 (via farfetch.com)
Finally, this bustier dress is probably my favourite thing in the whole collection.
I spotted this in Galeries Lafayette in Paris earlier this year and it was love at first sight.
It is a wonderfully playful take on evening wear, yet it is still has an elegant touch.
Happy shopping!
