In case you have been living under a rock for the last couple of days, you may have missed the spectacular that was the Royal Wedding.
I, like many, tuned in on the Friday, to see what the bride, Kate Middleton, was wearing for the event – and she didn’t disappoint, supporting the British label Alexander McQueen, in a traditional lace creation by their new creative director, Sarah Burton.
Her sister, Pippa, and the chief bridesmaid, also sported a gorgeous Sarah Burton by Alexander McQueen creation – a beautiful white column dress, which was my favourite dress of the day.
For her second dress of the day, at the evening reception, Kate also wore a Sarah Burton for McQueen dress.
However this number was remarkably different from the first – a stunning, satin strapless dress, worthy of a Princess.
Having Alexander McQueen as the Royal Wedding dress designer was a lovely tribute to the iconic British designer, just over a year after his death.
I’m sure the brand will see a rise in sales now, and if you would like to a stay ahead of the curve and follow in Kate’s stylish footsteps, here are the best of the most Princess-worthy pieces by Alexander McQueen which are available to buy at the moment.
Alexander McQueen Iris print silk-chiffon dress, £3,395
I love this gorgeous dress – the shape is extremely flattering and the dress, in different colours and prints, has already been sported by Kourtney Kardashian and Mila Kunis.
Alexander McQueen layered silk habotai jacket, £3,725
Wrap up against the Spring breeze with a little light layering in the form of this ivory McQueen jacket.
Alexander McQueen strong shouldered coat, £1,430
I’m loving this tailored coat, which is available in this Spring-ready camel, which has already been spotted out on Victoria Beckham’s back.
Alexander McQueen pleated circle skirt, £760
Add a little femininity back into your work wardrobe with this gorgeous nude stretch circle skirt, which is perfect for Spring. Layer it a chic white blouse or a lightweight knit and heels and you are ready to go!
Alexander McQueen lace-trimmed silk blouse, £540
This lace trimmed blouse is gorgeous – simple but eluding such glamour.
This blouse is also incredible simple to wear and extremely versatile – team it with some white separates and heels for a day in the office, or with some skinny jeans and preppy loafers for a day off!
Pippa then stepped out in the evening in a green Temperley dress, striking style differences from a sister for the first time that day.
Temperley London is known for their more bohemian pieces, with easy-to-wear, kaftan-style shapes.
Temperley London long Liviana silk-chiffon gown, £1,550
Temperley London long Ailean dress, £2,529
Temperley London Narissa embroidered top, £420
